Stuttgart Consortium was a showcase for International Style architecture. In 1927 Van der Rohe gathered architects together to design working class housing: single, duplex, apartments. The Estate or settlement was called Weissenhof. Architects included Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, J.J.P.Oud, Peter Behrens, Hans Scharoun, Josef Frank Ludwig Hilberseimer. The first high rise was designed by Ernst Otto Osswald: Stuttgarter Tagblatt Turm.
